Calvert Christmas Party! Last year my Mom and I decided to create our own little family traditions. This year we started the party with a good game of Walley Ball. I had a terrible game due to the lack of sleep the night previous. (However the lack of sleep was all by my own free will and choice. My Highschool friends and I stayed up till the wee hours gabbing away and loving it). After the game(s), of which I lost every time, we headed back to the Calverts' for the Fondue Party. You gotta love the fondue!! On a side note.. Anna called Adam the day before while he was at work, "Dad are you commin' to the due-party?" Anywho, we had a wonderful night and I am thrilled we have a new fun tradition!

Why Do We Insist On The Santa Pictures?
I mean seriously! We go to the Ward Christmas Party and my friends say, " Oh yeah, Santa is coming!" I get all excited and get Anna pumped. By the time it was our turn to sit on Santa's lap, her little knuckles were white around my hand. I hand her over to Santa and then stand back and say "Smile". While there are about 20 other adults all with cameras in hand, all eyes on Anna. Like she is going to smile. And then I hand Quinn to Santa and expect to get a good picture...Right! Well the tradition lives on with all of us. I am sure we will continue to get our pictures taken with Santa until the day the picture taken matches the picture we have in our head! Until then....Smile Kids!

Follow Your Heart
Today was Anna's first day as a Sunbeam (the first real Sunday School class for kids in our church). She has been anticipating this day for weeks. She has been talking a lot about scriptures and she has been toting around my old little blue quad. She claims them as her own. So I thought it would be fun to get her one of those manuals that have the pictures and tell all of the stories from the Book of Mormon. I gave it to her on Saturday and made kind of a big deal out of it. I said that these were her special scriptures because now she was going to be a Sunbeam. Well she ate it up. She begs for me to read her scripture stories at any time of the day. Last night I was reading to her and I said only one more chapter. She argued and said, " No Mommy, I want lots and lots of stories. All of them." I explained that if we indeed read all of her Scripture Stories tonight we would have nothing to read tomorrow. "But Mommy, My heart tells me this is good for me. I need to read more !" Now please tell me, How in the world do you argue with that?!!
